ALISON
JONES Alison Jones has a degree in Ceramics from Camberwell College of Arts, London. Since graduating she has established a studio in South Oxfordshire where visitors are welcome to view new and ongoing work. Alison exhibits both sculptural and functional pieces that explore or incorporate the human form. Her figurative pieces are created from life drawings. Detail is transferred from the drawn line onto slabs of clay and the pieces are then assembled like a dress- makers pattern. The pieces are made from a variety of terracotta, white earthenware and stoneware clay bodies. Each piece has a different combination of clays depending on texture, scale and detail required. Recent work
has included large outdoor pieces, smoke fired figures and local
architecture. |
