ANTHONY ECCLES
Anthony Eccles
uses the traditional vessel form as a canvas for his highly imaginative
and evocative pieces. Often landscape inspired he is excited by
the immediacy, fun and energy in children's art and the traditions
of naive painters. His animated imagery is created on a stoneware
base using sgraffito and inlaid techniques with richly coloured
oxides, engobes and glazes building an expressive depth of layers,
textures and surface qualities. The robust forms have an energy
