Giles
designs and makes letters for a range of applications - his work
includes architectural lettering and memorials, commemorative plaques
and sculptural installations.
Letters are
carved in stone and wood and designed for metal and other materials.
In each case the aim is for a visually engaging inscription using
strong letterforms and a design sensitive to context.
Born in 1967, Giles read Ancient History at St Andrews University,
and studied stone carving at Bath College. He was awarded a Crafts
Council Development Award and exhibits regularly.
Giles works
to commission from his North Oxfordshire studio and on site throughout
the UK.
