Selma Stagg was born in Bosnia in 1961. In 1988 she moved to UK. She is a graduate Civil Engineer but her interest in the arts led her to take a course, at Windsor, in Art, Design and Ceramics.

Porcelain Jewellery- Selma uses porcelain as the major material for her jewellery because of its unique qualities of light weight and strength. The use of vibrant colour, predominantly red, is an integral part of her designs, which incorporate porcelain, beads of semiprecious stones, sterling silver and PMC silver (99.9% silver).
Studio Ceramics - Selma's pots are hand built using the pinching method of shaping clay and is probably the earliest method used by humans. This method is contemplative; many hours spent modelling and refining the pots are reflected in their organic forms. The burnished pots are dried slowly then biscuit fired. Five layers of glaze are applied by brush and fired a second time. After glaze firing, 18 carat gold, platinum and other decals are applied before a final firing.
