Soon after she came to this country in l966 Edith started pottery as a leisure activity, which quickly became serious. Previous professional training in Germany had been as a singer.
She works exclusively in Raku. Pots are functional, using wheel and handbuilding methods. In Raku's postfiring process spontaneity and chance co-operate with experience and technique, influencing the pot at all stages.

Edith has been an active member of the Oxfordshire Craft Guild since 1983.

She works part time, sells from her own workshop, Guild and many other exhibitions and is a founding member of the Craft Gallery in Chipping Norton (run as a Co-operative with close links to the Guild).
