I started woodturning in 2000 and was accepted as a member of the Oxfordshire Craft Guild in 2003.  I am also on the  Register of Professional Turners, managed by the Worshipful Company of Turners, and a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen. Wood is an exciting material to work with, providing a huge range of colours and forms.

I use mainly British native woods with some exotics, especially when I can be sure that they have come from sustainably managed forests. Often using my signature inlays, most of my work is functional but I am also developing purely artistic pieces.

I aim to make high quality work combining good technical turning techniques with attention to design to enhance the inherent beauty of the figure and grain.

I was awarded the Oxfordshire Artweeks Mary Moser Award in 2010 and in an on-line poll in 2012 was chosen as Britain’s joint Favourite Designer Maker.
